
What Is Diolaze Xl?
DiolazeXL is a laser hair removal treatment that uses selective photothermolysis. The light from the DiolazeXL penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. This absorption of light in the hair follicle causes the hair follicle to be destroyed and no longer grow.
DiolazeXL is safe on all skin types. White hairs do not respond well to DiolazeXL due to decreased melanin in the hair follicle. This treatment can be done anywhere on the body where unwanted hair is located, avoiding the eyelids, lips and areas with tattoos or permanent makeup.
How Many Treatments & Cost?
Treatment sessions vary from 4-10 sessions every 4-8 weeks. Hair location, type, and color factor into the hair follicle receptiveness. Lighter skin types with darker hair have an increased response to DiolazeXL. Lighter and deeper hair may require more sessions for desired effect.​

Treatment of facial hair typically requires more frequent intervals (every 4-6 weeks) and hormonally-controlled areas such as the chin may require more treatment sessions. Body hair sessions have a typical interval of every 6-8 weeks. Treatment sessions may vary and are best timed when hair regrowth is observed.

​Once the desired hair reduction is achieved, touch up treatments may be needed from time to time for new hair growth. This varies from person to person.

Pre & Post Treatment Advice:
PRE-TREATMENT
Avoid any tanning type 3-4 weeks prior to treatment or use at least 30 SPF sun block. Avoid irritant topical agents for 2-3 days prior to treatment. Avoid anticoagulants for 7-10 days prior to treatment, if medically permitted. No waxing, depilatory hair removal, or tweezing 3 weeks prior to treatment. Shave the area prior to coming in for your appointment and arrive with clean skin. A cooling gel and cooling strip on the hand piece help provide minimal discomfort during the treatment.

Length of treatment sessions depends on the area of skin covered. Small areas, such as upper lip, chin, or underarms, can take up to 15-30 minutes. Larger areas such as legs may take 30-45 minutes or longer.
POST-TREATMENT
Sunblock of SPF 30 or greater should be used 3 weeks following treatment and 3 weeks preceding next sessions. Avoiding the sun is preferred to prevent hyperpigmentation. Moisturizing and makeup may be applied immediately after if skin is intact. For the first 2 days following each treatment session, avoid hot baths, massages, or other activities that involve heat to the area. Keep the treated area clean. No waxing, depilatory treatments, or tweezing between treatments; shaving only.

Adverse reactions, Contraindications & Precautions:
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
discomfort or pain, excessive skin redness (erythema) and/or swelling (edema), damage to natural skin texture (crust, blister, and/or burn), change of pigmentation (hyper- or hypo-), in-growing hairs, and scarring.
Peri-follicular erythema and edema lasting a few days after treatment is a desired typical treatment end point.
Female patients with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian heritage can see increased hair growth when treated on the face and neck.

History of diseases that are stimulated by heat, such as herpes simplex, in the treatment area. Areas can still be treated following a prophylactic regimen.

Current or past history of skin cancers or pre-malignant moles.
Certain autoimmune diseases.
Pregnancy Or Nursing
Fresh tan from sun, tanning beds, or tanning sprays
Poorly controlled endocrine disorders such as diabetes or thyroid dysfunction or hormonal virilization.
Any active condition in the treatment area such as rash, sores, psoriasis, eczema.
History of skin disorders such as keloids, abnormal wound healing, or dry/fragile skin.
Severe medical conditions such as cardiac or sensory disturbances.
Use of Isotretinoin (Accutane) within 6 months of prior to treatment Known photosensitivity or drugs causing photosensitivity.
Disease that may be stimulated by light such as epilepsy, lupus, and urticaria.
